Biography

As Vice President of Science + Technology at Columbia, Bill leads with a proactive mindset, a deep understanding of client needs, and a thoughtful and informed approach to construction. With more than 30 years of experience in chemistry, architecture, and construction, Bill understands the distinct elements involved in successful Science + Technology construction. He is highly technical and creative and works with project partners to develop strategies to elevate outcomes while adhering to budgets and deadlines. Throughout his career, Bill has fostered an accomplished list of Science + Technology clients, including Moderna, New England Biolabs, Novartis, Akouos, Takeda, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Integra LifeSciences, Ratio Therapeutics, and Sartorius.

Bill earned his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Brandeis University and his Master of Architecture from Ohio State University. Bill’s reputation as a champion of Lean principles, continuous improvement, and last planner strategies drives his project successes. By building trusting team relationships and committing to utilizing new technologies, Bill ensures best practices on complex projects to exceed client expectations. A thoughtful leader and industry expert, Bill has contributed to expert articles and participated in a number of speaking engagements, including BIZNOW 2018 and 2019 Lab Conversion Strategies in Great Boston, GBREB 2019 Lab Construction by the Numbers, BOMA 2019 Plan Reading and Understanding Construction Documents, and  BIZNOW 2020 Covid Impacts on Construction.
