Biography
Christopher Ng Thow Hing is a Senior Scientist II in Novel Therapeutics at Generate Biomedicines in Somerville, MA, where he has been contributing his vast experience since August 2022. With a strong foundation in microbiology and immunology, Christopher’s work spans across protein engineering, expression and purification, structural biology, biophysical analysis, assay design, and high-throughput technologies. His ability to bridge interdisciplinary skills significantly impacts team-based environments, where he contributes both expertise and innovative solutions. Previously, Christopher worked at the Novartis Institutes of Biomedical Research for over 13 years in various protein science roles including most recently the Biotherapeutic Engineering & Gene Therapy group where he designed multi-specific biologics and CAR-T scaffolds. His work was pivotal in structurally guided improvement of therapeutic molecules, enhancing their activity, stability, and delivery.
In his current role, Christopher works closely with project teams to produce complex protein modalities and high-quality recombinant proteins for drug development which include using high-throughput automation methods. He is recognized for his leadership in biochemistry and biophysics, molecule characterization, and assay development, contributing to lead discovery and optimization.
