Biography

Marilee leads the lab planning practise at HED, one of the oldest and largest architecture and engineering firms in the country. An experienced architect and planner with over 35 years of experience managing and designing multifaceted projects for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, vivaria, clinical laboratories and hospitals, science education facilities, and product development laboratories, she is well-respected for her passion and strategic design skills. Her clients include industry giants like Pfizer, Bayer, and Industrial Scientific, and leading research institutions such as The University of Michigan, UCLA, Boston University, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

 

Marilee is a subject matter expert in the realm of laboratory planning and design best practices and is a frequent speaker and regular contributor to leading conferences, podcasts, and trade journals, including Lab Manager, Lab Design News, the American Association for Clinical Chemistry, the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) New Matter podcast, Transformation in Trials podcast, and Tradelines.
