Biography

Maximilian Wiens founded Synefex in 2019 and has been Managing Director since then. In this role, he focuses on laboratory data integration, data analytics, digital transformation, and value-added scenarios around IT in laboratories.

Previously, he worked as a project manager for cloud solutions and enterprise cloud architect, in research as a bioinformatician and is co-author of several whitepapers and publications. He studied bioinformatics and genomics at the University of Bielefeld, Germany, has a long experience in the environment of datalakes, instrument integration and IT infrastructure architectures for data science. He is a certified cloud architect and is a member of the open laboratory data standard working group AnIML, as well as a member of the industry forum of the German Network for Bioinformatics Infrastructure – de.NBI.
